Taking a left at that light, we are ¼ down on the left. Southbound visitors would take a left at Exit 54 and follow the above directions. "A Subaru Owner For Three Decades"

Having been a Subaru owner for over three decades, I feel qualified to rate the full service dealerships I have dealt with.  They were all very good, but one stands out so dramatically.

 

     In Pennsylvania, Monroeville and Irwin dealerships, located near Pittsburgh, were acceptable most of the visits.  Occasionally, it was obvious that sales, not service, was their primary interest.  When my wife and I moved to Hershey, PA., the closest dealership was located in Harrisburg.  The dealership there was very courteous and offered much better maintenance service.

 

     However, since moving to Connecticut nearly six years ago I've been overwhelmed  by a dealership I recommend to every potential person looking for a vehicle.  It has a superb maintenance service department.  Every individual employed at Premier Subaru in Branford, Connecticut is a model employee.  At least that's the perception, as a customer-consumer, I have observed.

 

     Their maintenance/service department have competent individuals at every level, from secretaries and personnel making appointments to the persons writing up the work order forms, mechanics, assistants and managers.  Their recommendations for "other" corrections or added maintenance have always been prudent.  After having an oil change, thew mechanic indicated on the work slip that front brakes should be serviced.  The person behind the counter called me from the waiting room and informed me.  I indicated I did not want the work done.  Driving home, I realized I could be jeopardizing the safety of not only myself but my wife, and grandchildren who we transport and babysit.  I called Premier Subaru service department and informed them I changed my mind.  They informed me that they could schedule and fix my problem the next day.

 

     This illustrates how this dealership takes safety of their vehicles and cooperation with their clients above and beyond other dealerships.  They offer free coffee, television, computers, free internet service, and free loan cars for major servicing or repairs.  The dealership shows obvious concern for all their customers.  Therefore, I feel this dealership, Premier Subaru of Branford Connecticut, deserves the highest award Subaru offers.  Thank you for reading this letter and I am not related to or friends of any employees there.  I just feel that as a concerned consumer that superior service deserves praise.

This was my first service for my Subaru that I purchased in October.  I was very pleased with every aspect of the service.  Everyone in the service department was friendly, professional, and helpful.  Dennis took the time to come out to the car with me to answer some questions I had.  The wait time was what I was told it would be and the waiting room was comfortable.  I was able to easily get on-line while waiting and get some work done.  Also, having the car washed is a nice treat which I appreciated.

"Refreshing Customer Service"

We recently brought our 2010 Subaru Outback in for a flat tire that we believed was unrepairable.  Being new to Subarus, this is our first, we then learned of the requirement to have all the tires pretty close in circumference for the All-Wheel Drive to work properly.  Having 30,000 miles on the tires and with a good amount of life still on them, I was worried about having to buy four new tires at this time.  You helped us with a used tire that had comparable wear as the other four tires and was much less expensive than replacing all of the tires.  This attention to serving your customer was refreshing and confirmed that I will be back to you for the four new tires in the not too distant future.

Dear Robert J. Alvine,

I just wanted to drop a line expressing my appreciation for the excellent customer service offered by Dennis and the whole Service Department team at Premier Subaru. Having owned or leased 4 Subaru's: 1998 Forester; 2003 Legacy; 2005 Outback Wagon and a 2006 Forester I have grown accustomed to excellent reliability.

Several weeks ago while driving my 2006 Forester which was 5 months and 4 thousand miles over warranty, the engine failed. As I was driving, the check engine light came on, I lost power and the engine was making a bad noise. The vehicle was towed to Premier where it was determined that the engine had suffered a dropped valve guide. When I spoke to Dennis he was as surprised as I was and tried to alleviate my anxiety.

Recognizing my distress at this low mileage failure and my history of Subaru ownership he was able to arrange a Goodwill repair at a much lower cost than I expected. I wanted to commend the Premier Subaru Team for their excellent customer service. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant, understanding and professional.

When the time comes for a new vehicle I plan on visiting Premier Subaru.

I would like you to know that I have been, and remain, extremely appreciative of the care and service I receive from your staff.  Brian Dubosar has been simply exceptional- you are very lucky to have him!!!! I find myself thanking him continually for all he does for us- and it occurred to me that I have not let you know how great he has been for us- not only in selling us multiple cars (and more to come!) but he goes out of his way for us to make sure we get the help we need. For example, my son had some minor trouble with our (his now?) legacy in the Boston area, had it towed to a local dealer, and Brian offered to connect with the dealer and was able to get them to give him prompt attention (a week wait turned into an immediate fix!). Our other Subaru, just this weekend, got a flat- tire sliced on the side wall. I called Gary in service- he was patient, responsive, just terrific- and Brian was right there helping me, working with Gary and- despite a crazy and busy Saturday- they were somehow able to help me that day and, while it was there, despite the busy schedule, found the time to do the oil change which saved me a trip back!

Brian regularly goes out of his way to help us with servicing our car, so graciously. I feel comfortable getting any car advice from him. He clearly cares deeply about Premier Subaru and his customers. I have found the same attitude and dedication in your service department with Gary and his team, and your sales team- especially Adam. So it will not surprise you that we continue to tell our friends about Premier Subaru!!

I suspect you already know you have an amazing team. I just wanted you to know that it is both noticed and appreciated.

The service at Premier is awesome.  I had a tire with a slow leak and it was changed promptly. Same tire got a bubble and replaced again, no hassle.  Fit my wifes car (Linda Meola) in a few weeks ago for a hitch and last week squeezed mine in for a hitch because her car was hit from behind and in the body shop.  We wanted to still have a hitch for vacation and thanks to Dennis and the rest of the crew we are good to go.  Thanks to the guy who installed both our hitches, sorry I forget his name.  Very nice person.  - Bob & Linda

Hi Bob,

I just received a call from Jamie who told me that the car is being returned today with a passed emissions test, an oil change, a vacuum, and no big charges.  That is incredible news, and it comes at a time when I've been feeling more than ever that so many human interactions are just a hassle.   I believe that each of the gas stations to which I brought the car (first for the test, and then for a potential remedy) acted in very good faith, but neither of them could have done what your company did.  Please thank Dennis for me as I don't have his email. 

It does not escape me that when our cars are not very broken, a lot of  time and expense still goes into getting them, servicing, and returning  them!  As always I really appreciate your help.

Dear Bob Alvine,

I would like to bring to your attention one of your staff Dave Harger, Operations Director of SubaruPartsWarehouse.com . I am in CA and recently, i needed to buy some parts for my son's Subaru Tribeca. The local dealers refused to help me due to the complicated situation but to make the story short, I had to look to the Internet for help. I found SubaruPartsWarehouse.com and then my problem was solved. Dave took charge of my problem and even though there were shipping issues, he thought outside the box and made it work. My point is, honestly, I was going to give up on buying Subaru the brand even though we own 3 ( 06 STI, 09 Legacy and 08 Tribeca) and we are very happy with them. The customer service of the California Bay area Subaru dealers are terrible. At least now, I will not be looking at selling our Subaru's because we will service them with non dealer shops but I will be buying all factory parts from Dave Harger.

I hope he gets recognition for making a loyal customer even from so far as CA. I will also be referring all my friends who needs parts to shop from Dave.

I blasted my way out of my driveway this morning....and made it to work....passing a truck that was stuck on exit 15 trying to make it up the exit ramp....spinning his wheels....through piles and piles of "plowed" snow, the '09 Subaru Forester, like the Energizer Bunny, just kept rolling and rolling along. I kep using the sport shift just as I would have if I was driving a standard transmission....and I kept rolling along.

I want to make certain that everyone concerned, including Mr. Alvine, knows how wonderful I think your Service Department is.  Just last week I emailed for an appointment for a 30,000 mi Maintenance and got a very curious and prompt email back with a date and time for this past Friday.  I had several conversations during the day regarding the service with Jamie and Angie who were both amazing with the information they convey as well as "nice to know" info as well.  They are both professional and knowledgeable and a credit to your business. 

After I made the appointment last week I called <DEALERSHIP NAME REMOVED> to ask how much they charged for the 30,000 mile maintenance.  I had to leave a message in the AM and never rec'd a call back.  When I called the department later in the day, I spoke with a person that should never have been employed as a phone representative of any company.  I wanted to give <DEALERSHIP NAME REMOVED> a chance as I am a friend of <DEALERSHIP'S GM'S NAME REMOVED> (who was not GM at <DEALERSHIP NAME REMOVED> when I purchased my car from Premier).  I have felt badly in the past for not using them, but when the time is right, I will let <DEALERSHIP'S GM'S NAME REMOVED> know why.
 
Not only did I get a loaner that was clean to use for the day but when I pulled up at 8:00 for my scheduled appt., I mentioned to the gentleman that was standing there that I had a scratch the length of two doors on the passengers side and I would appreciate anything they could do to make it less conspicuous.  Amazingly, I have to look long and hard to even see where the scratch was and I am overjoyed for this service alone.
 
Enough said for now, but please know that you have a very satisfied customer in me and I'm sure in many others given the excellent service at Premier Subaru.
